NO 'CATCH -AND RELEASE' HERE!!!!!!

Gray Drake Lodge and Outfitters, for 20 years has been '100%' catch- and- release /no -kill on trout, steelhead and salmon- FACT!- we have never compromised for 'tip/blood money' and killed a single fish.....BUT!!!!

When it comes to walleye, the 'bar-none' tastiest/delish/epicurean fish that swims the Great Lakes, the season is opened until March 15th!!!!- and the Muskegon River gets one of the largest runs of spring walleyes in the Great Lakes- second to only Ohio's Maumee River.

'WE DON'T RELEASE THESE FOLKS'!!! 

As a former chef and Food and Beverage Director, this fish - especially in 30 F water, has the most delicate and delicious meat any fish lover/monger could ever dream of. Its white meat is transparent and when pan fried/bakes, deep fried , it is a delicacy like soft shell crabs. They are compared in taste to cod, grouper, snapper, haddock- but with a sweet delicate taste like no other fish.

We catch them usually by accident when targeting steelhead and they love chartreuse egg patterns and sac fry ice man minnows.... 

Our guides are willing and waiting to give you an epicurean delight like no other- season only open until March 15th!!!

One other main reason to harvest these fish???....THEY EAT THE HELL OUT OF OUR TROUT, STEELHEAD AND SALMON SMOLTS- FACT! MUSKEGON LAKE IS SO FULL OF THEM, I BET EVERYONE OF THOSE STURGEON BROWN TROUT FINGERLINGS WE STOCKED LAST FALL BECAME WALLEYE FOOD!!...:(
