EARLY FEBRUARY UPDATE AND A MONSTER BUCK STEELHEAD!

( Helios switch rod-11/7-with Abel Super 8 steelhead model)

(New Orvis Mirage large arbor with Hydros 10/7- very light combination steelhead set-up, best I've casted and fished!)

River levels excellent for this time of year-1930 cfs. Water temp cold-34 F. Steelhead hunkered down in the deep pool guts.BUT-Buehler saw some fish near shallow water gravel at Leto's yesterday-sniffing early?........hmmm. El Nino winter usually means an early spawn in March-occurred in 99-2001-2004.

I finally hit my"BIG WINTER HAWG BUCK' yesterday- maybe 14-15 lbs. February always produces some of the biggest girthed males-deep double redbands-AWESOME HANDSOME BEASTS!!! I was the camera guy playing with my new Christmas present- a Nikon D 700 digital SLR-13.0 megapixal- REALLY SWEET CAMERA.......but you need a PHD to operate it-still learning.

We still have openings for our winter weekend getaways-we can e-mail you info on rates and plans-or call us!!!!
