CALM DAY TROUT OPENER

With scattered thunderstorms and warm air, the Muskegon was very tranquil compared to the circus atmosphere of Friday.Water at perfect level 2,130 cfs-water temp 49F.Good numbers of steelhead in the river and the trout action really picked up in the afternoon on the warm weather. Some nice browns and rainbows mixed in with the newly stocked hatchery fish were hitting the surface taking early black stones(#12) cdc style on the surface.More rains over the next three days will bring in fresh steelhead on a full moon cycle

Above find a nice brown that was gulping egg laying black stone flies on the surface and Bill Zwicky from Chicago with a nice male red banded steelhead.
